San Diego news and video production company BayNewsVideo provided coverage of the crash of a Cessna that went down on the beach on Camp Pendleton.

The Orange County Register reported that the Cessna 172 was en route from John Wayne Airport to Montgomery Field in San Diego when it crashed near a helicopter pad by Las Pulgas Road. The pilot, identified as Allan Jacobson, was reported in fair condition on Monday by the Register, at Scripps Memorial Hospital in La Jolla.

A passenger, David Menne, 50, of Oregon was listed Monday in critical condition at Mission Hospital in Mission Viejo. The other passenger, Scott Jones, 48, of Lake Forest has been released.

Base authorities declined to allow BayNewsVideo personnel on the base without a public information officer. When the PIO was not immediately made available, BayNewsVideo crews photographed the incident from Interstate-5.
